Moving into WordPress

Decisions, decisions. Introducing my latest obsession: WordPress Blogging Software.

Hoo haw, WordPress is an excellent way to fritter away my time. Kind of funny, too, since I don’t really want a blog; I want an easier way to manage my site.

While learning about Content Management Systems, or CMS, I learned that blogging software provides many webmasters an inexpensive and easy-to-learn CMS, as long as they’re willing to do a little tweaking here and there. That’s when I noticed my host offered a blogging script called WordPress.

I downloaded it, installed it, and then I discovered Alex King’s WordPress Theme Competition and Blogging Pro’s theme list. And now I am toast.

All the themes from which to choose, all the design possibilities… it’s just too tempting to experiment. Do I want three columns? Two?

How about two on the main page and one on the single post page? Or three on the main and two on the single? And what about all the color schemes? This is so much more interesting than planning dinner.

I’ll move some of my columns over to this blog-style site so there’ll be something in the categories I’ve listed, but I haven’t decided whether or not to move them all.

Lots of decisions that must be made, and how enjoyable this decision-making is, too, instead of doing the laundry.
