I fought the lawn… and the lawn won

Monday Morning Mojo No. 52: On the Road

Filed under: Bulldog on Monday, October 16, 2006

Mojo: 'This was a tough weekend.'

Picture of flowers: 'We had to arrange lots of flowers.'

Aunt Babe and Aunt TJ did most of the work

Mojo: 'But I helped, too.'

Mojo behind screen door: 'Until Babe made up this dumb rule about not peeing on flowers.'

'It turned out okay, though, even without the pee.'

Mojo with toy on head: 'Afterward I had to practice balancing stuff on my head again, like I'm ever going to need it.'

Then Bonnie wasted a lot of time on her lap top in the back yard, cussing about something called wire less'

Right now I'm just waiting for her to fini-- ZZZZZZ

  7. Yay Mojo! Yay Bonnie for overcoming the obstacle of backyard lurking. Yay Monda– wait, what AM I saying? Oh, yeah, Mojo makes Monday’s tolerable.

  8. Ha! So much to smile about here (and I NEEDED it-having been lurking in poutville all weekend).
The flower arranging and Mojo’s take on it all was so much fun.
    The memorial looked beautiful.

    thanksthanksthanks Mojo and Bonnie.

  9. Does Mojo like strangers. I mean if I happen to be driving by, open the car door and hold out a nice steak, would he hop in. Just kidding. Don’t need to be on the run for dognapping

  10. ahhhhhh, My Life As A Mojo. (could be a blog spinoff…. )

hey Mojo, can I ask you a question? Why does my dog keep grabbing the phone and chewing it in the backyard? Who’s he trying to call? What’s up with the number 9?

    Comment by portnoy — 10/16/2006 @ 10:28 am

  11. aw… he just wants to help

    Comment by Dennie ~ — 10/16/2006 @ 12:05 pm

  12. The flowers were beautiful!! Give MoJo a hug for me. I love other peoples dogs. Mine is so annoying!!! He will never get potty trained i’m afraid!

  13. Awww….how sweet of Mojo to “assist”. ;-) He clearly has such a hard life, if he snoozed in mid-sentence!
Btw, I thought of you all today- I saw a Bulldog service dog at the store!

Wonderful memorial, Bonnie. I hope the service was healing for all.

  14. You put a smile on my face.
I hope the memorial helped you all and was as pretty as you wanted it to be.

  15. Very nice job on the flowers and memorial, Bonnie.

I love it when you blog about Mojo. My dog has been gone since the late 80′s and I still miss him (I keep his pillow in a box of Christmas decorations and every year, I take it out and spend some quiet time with him). Reading about Mojo reminds me of all the love and joy he brought to my life.

Good boy, Mojo. Here’s a cookie for you.

  17. I HATE dumb rules about not peeing on things.
    Power to Mojo!

    Comment by jamie — 10/17/2006 @ 8:55 am

  18. Yeah, Bernita, I guess I do, too, even though he can be such a little stinker.

TL, I think you and Mojo would get along just fine, except he’d probably get a little nervous with your gravatar always aiming that gun in his direction.

LaurelWreath, I don’t know what got into the little stinker, except maybe he thought he was improving the flowers.

Sandy, he does make us laugh—he’s good that way. But he also caused a lot of room-clearing, thanks to his gassy talents.

Susan, we send them right back atcha! You and your man have got a little family of bulldog cuties!

Heh, Ms. Karen! He was cold in that back yard, too.

Aw, Dink, that was pretty bad, your dad forgetting your b-day. But look on the bright side: APPLE BUTTER!

Heh, Mr. Steve! I’d give you, maybe, five minutes before Mojo lets a gasser that peels the paint off your car interior.

You’ll be back. With the dog. Oh, yeah.

Portnoy, Mojo thinks your dog is silly, wasting a perfectly good phone like that, just to dial 9. He says if your dog really wants to know what to do with a phone, see here.

Yes, Dennie, he does. He wanted to help with the wheat grass, too. Bleah!

Squirrel, have you tried crate training?

No way, Lachlan! A service bulldog? Was it an American Bulldog? They’re tough and healthy and eager to serve. I just can’t imagine an English Bulldog doing much more than sleeping most of the day. (Or gassing.)

    Hi, Melly!

    Lesia, you need a dog!

Hi, Krista, thank you for stopping to comment!

Heh, Jamie! You and Hubby both!

  19. Poor Mojo…he musta’ thought the flowers looked a little dry!

What a beautiful remembrance! I love flower arrangements!

  20. Mojo! What a pooch. Misting the flowers might not be acceptable. ;)

    Lovely flower arrangements, Bonnie.

Missed your blog while I was traipsing and had horrible Mojo withdrawal.
