Super Sabado: Love is all around—but I’m all square

In honor of the impending Valentine’s Day, today’s Super Sabado is about amor, amour, amore, liebe, ?, ??, and ?. (Don’t you just love the Google Translator?)

But first, a correction: I made a boo boo. Baby Grouchypants is, indeed, a girl, and not a boy. My boy-centric life took over on that one. So sorry!

And some news pertinent to all my Blogspot/Blogger friends out there. Douglas Hoffman successfully switched from Blogger to WordPress. He also (get this) successfully imported his Blogger archives (including comments) into his new home site. All that remains: cataloging his archives. Bad news for Blogger/Blogspot!

Now it’s time to sit down, order some fajitas and margaritas and begin our Super Sabado. Go easy on those chips, will ya?

Kait wins our Super Sabado Extra Dollop of Guacamole for her post, “Romance in the Air.”

Actually, Kait, I think I just ate the last dollop of guacamole, so here’s something else: a little film clip from your last vacation with Dawg. Ah, how romantic he is!

Teri Gray Franta has a Valentine’s posting called “No Fondue for You,” the term “fondue” having a deeper meaning to it than one might think at first.

There was a sweet photo posted at Black Rim Glasses, where Ethan also made this profound observation about love.

Love is looking at someone and regardless of age, its like the first time you saw them. Ethan

Awww! That’s so true!

Mel of the Smooshie Diaries also posted a photo; this one of a bittersweet moment from the past, when her grandparents were young and beautiful.

Susan at Church of Angst wrote about finally falling in love with her 15-week-old bulldog.

M.C. Pearson of Mimi’s Pixie Corner remembers a very special day that highlights how much she loves her boys.

Bonnie Calhoun from Bonnie Writes reports some clever twists on the “If you love something, set it free” sayings.

Lachlan of My So-Called Blog loves getting away with Bayou. Meanwhile, Bayou of A Perfect Anomaly loves getting away with Lachlan.

And Then There Are Those Who Express Love for Inanimate Objects

Killer Yapp announced that liversnaps are what demonstrate true love, not “hearting.” Mojo agrees.

Miklb from Miklb’s Mindless Ramblings professed his love for Spam Karma.

Ann Elisabeth, AKA the Spam Huntress, loves the little love notes she gets from spammers:

I bet you’re single and frustrated and decided to upset other people with your small insignificant existence . Just a thought from a spammer . Happy Valentine’s ! The ethical spammer has something to tell me

Yikes! She must be making a dent in this guy’s operation. Way to go, Spam Huntress! Kick some spammer butt for me!

And Craig Hartel of Nuclear Moose Candy has decided he loves modern plumbing.

A Bit of a Stretch in the Love Department, But It’ll Do

April Redmon of Desperate Writer has got some cat love goin’ on.

Johnny Undercover loves The Godfather.

Alana loves many things, but NOT Brokeback Mountain.

Dennie wonders if there’s anyone who doesn’t love free pens.

John August loved going to the Grammys.

And Pat always loves a little Iraqi Eye Candy.

Whew!

Now for those of you who hung in there until the very end, here’s a compelling argument for owning a pug, rather than a parrot, if you want a pet that can talk. (Non-Quicktime users can see a video here, but it’s shorter.)
